Christmas Songs On The Way To Val d’Isere

During one of the first ski transfers of this ski season 2012, a group of clients coming from Scotland experienced this year’s first very heavy snowfall while on their way to the popular ski resort of Val d’Isere. Minutes after beginning the ascent of the mountain, the vehicle had to be stopped and fitted with snow chains. The journey was continued, but to add to further delay, there was another ‘surprise’ waiting for the group closer to Val d’Isere.

That night, the snow which fell on the trees beside the Val d’Isere access road had become very heavy, and caused some of the trees to fall. Unfortunately one of these trees fell onto the road and stopped all traffic going to Val d’Isere and Tignes.

The group, who had already traveled with Snowdrop Transfers during the previous season, we’re unfortunately delayed for approximately 1.5 hours on their journey up the mountain due to the extreme weather conditions. But this never diminished the group’s positive attitude at all, as they were set on enjoying every minute of their holiday.

The French Authorities, as per usual, were very quick to arrive and to start cutting the tree into parts which could be moved to un-block the road. This gave our Snowdrop Transfers clients just enough time to sing a few of their favorite Christmas songs and taking a few group photos, before they were on the move again towards their skiing destination.

A big thank you! To all members of the David Kyle group for being so patient that snowy evening and for being so entertaining. A memorable start to this winter ski season!
