Meribel is one of the most sought-after ski resorts in the Alps. With its’ ‘roots’ dating back to the Second World War, the development of Meribel has continued to improve and impress its’ visitors.
There are 3 villages of Meribel, Meribel village, Meribel Centre and Meribel Motteret. Meribel Village and Meribel Centre are both situated at 1400 metres altitude, however Meribel Motteret has been built at 1750 metres altitude. The skiing area of Meribel seems to be the centre axis within the ‘3 valleys’ domain, the largest skiing domain in the world. Literally via the use of one single ski lift, other ski resorts such as Courchevel, Les Menuires, Val Thorens, La Tania and Brides Les Bains can be accessed.
During the 1992 Winter Olympic Games, Meribel was the host for the Women’s Alpine Skiing and Ice Hockey competitons.
Meribel offers a wide range of accommodation possibilities that suit to all budgets. Whether you would like to be hosted by one of the larger tour operators in the resort, or if you’d prefer to stay in an independent chalet, Meribel has the accommodation for you.
Extra activities in Meribel include Bowling, Ice Hockey, Ice Skating, Figure Skating, Billiard Tables, Cinema, Video Games, Snow-shoeing, Snow Mobiles, Horse Sleigh Tour, Walking, Health centres, Spas, Bars, Restaurants, Cafes, Clubs, Concerts and Festivals.
