Les Arcs

Les Arcs skiing resort is combined of four ski villages. Named after the altitude height, the villages are called Arc 1600, Arc 1800, Arc 1950 and finally Arc 2000. The first village of Les Arcs that was opened was Arc 1600 over 40 years ago, and the last village was opened in 2003, Arc 1950.

Based in the Savoie department of the Rhone Alps region, Les Arcs is part of the vast skiing domain called ‘Paradiski’. This huge skiing domain is made up from the skiing area of both Les Arcs and also La Plagne. These two areas are connected by a cable-car called the ‘Vanoise Express’. Les Arcs is also connected to Bourg Saint Maurice (a small town further down into the valley) by a funicular railway.

Due to the continual development of the skiing area, Les Arcs has hosted many skiing/snowboarding international competitions in the past, including the winter Olympic Games in 1992 (speed skiing competition).

Extra activities range from Golf, Paragliding, Biking, Bowling, Cafes, Restaurants, Bars, Helicopter rides, Concerts, Swimming pools, Spas, Walking, Museums, Festivals, Games rooms and Cinema.
