La Plagne

The villages of La Plagne lay within the Tarrentaise valley of Savoie. The La Plagne skiing area is part of the Paradiski domain, a domain which La Plagne shares with another resort called Les Arcs.

La Plagne is made up of a total of eleven villages, ranging in altitudes from 1250 metres to 2100 metres! At the lower altitude of 1250 metres, we find the villages of Champagny-en-Vanoise and Montchavin. Slightly higher up the mountain at 1350 metres altitude, Montalbert is located, which was opened in the same year as its neighboring village, Les Coches (1450 metres altitude), 1980.

At 1800 metres altitude we arrive at the ex-mining village of La Plagne 1800. Several other villages are only a couple of minutes away from La Plagne 1800, including La Plagne Centre (1970 metres altitude), Aime La Plagne (2100 metres altitude), La Plagne Soleil (2050 metre altitude) and La Plagne Village (2050 metres altitude).

The remaining villages of the La Plagne ski area are located approximately 10 minutes by car away from the villages already mentioned. The first village is called La Plagne Bellecote (1930 metres altitude), which was created in 1974. The second and final village of La Plagne is called Belle plagne, opened in 1981 and situated at an altitude of 2050 metres.

La Plagne has 225 kilometres of ski slopes within its’ skiing area. By combining the ski area of La Plagne with the ski area of Les Arcs (which form the Paradiski Ski Domain), there is a total of 425 kilometres of ski slopes.

La Plagne also has a great range of activities available to everyone, including Bobsleigh rides, Hiking, Freestyle Snow Park, Sledging, Snow Nursery, Ice Rink, Bowling, Health Spa, Swimming Pool, Indoor Climbing Wall, Skidoos, Helicopter Rides, Paragliding, Quads, Bars, Restaurants, Bars and Clubs.

La Plagne Ski Transfers

Chambery airport (CMF) is the closest airport and the shortest transfer to the La Plagne area, and a Snowdrop Transfers vehicle will normally do this journey in about 1 hour 30 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes. The journey times may vary by a few minutes due to the La Plagne villages being slightly separated.

Snowdrop Transfers can provide transfers from Geneva airport (GVA), Grenoble airport (GNB) and also Lyon airport (LYS) to La Plagne. The journey time from each of these airports is estimated at approximately 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours.
