Megeve

The town of Megeve started developing into a ski resort approximately one hundred years ago. Originally, the idea was to create a ski resort which would rival the Suisse ski resort of Saint Moritz.

By the ‘50s and ‘60s, Megeve had become a very popular ski resort in France. During the last 50 years, Megeve has always been considered as a prestigious ski resort and a ‘hot-spot’ for celebrities to visit.

Megeve sits at an altitude of 1200 metres and is part of the ‘Evasion Mont Blanc’ skiing domain. Within this skiing domain, there are 425 kilometres of ski slopes!

Due to the extensive development to the town, the are many activities available for tourists, including Mountain Climbing, Polo (on snow), Ice Skating, Swimming, A Golf Course (both winter and summer), Mountain Walking, Sledging, Bowling, Tennis, Paintball, Helicopter Rides, Gym, Dancing, Paragliding, Biking, Curling, Snowshoeing, Dog Sleigh Rides, Restaurants, Cafes, Grocery shops, Boutiques and Bars.

Transportation times from Geneva Airport and Chambery Airport are estimated at 1 hour 10 minutes. Times from the Lyon airport and also the Grenoble Airport take slightly longer, and are estimated at 2 hours and 10 minutes.
