In the 1940s, the local people of the area saw the potential that La Rosiere had as a ski resort. During that decade, plans for the first ski lift in La Rosiere were conceived; however the project proved to be too expensive and therefore couldn’t be started at that time.
It was during the year of 1960, when the first ski lift was installed in La Rosiere. Shortly after, the development of La Rosiere increased with the introduction of a number of hotels and residential units, a nightclub and also a greengrocers shop.
Since these early days of La Rosiere to the present, the village has continued to construct new buildings which compliment the surrounding ‘Savoyard’ landscape. With this attention to detail, La Rosiere has an authentic mountain village ambience which is sensed immediately on entering the resort.
Together with great skiing, La Rosiere offers a range of extra activities including Ice Skating, Bowling, Quads, Tennis, Horse Riding, Golf, A Spa and Beauty Centre, Fitness clubs, Mountain Walking, Biking, Restaurants, Bars and clubs.
